I have a standing request at my LGS to let me know if he ever gets in a Model 70, Pre 64.
I was at the LGS this morning and he showed me the following Model 70, 30-06.
The LGS owner and myself both realize this is NOT a Pre 64 rifle as it carries the serial number
700324. The rifle is very early, #324, in the 1964 redesign. Its near perfect in all respects, i.e.; wood is perfect, bore bright, all bluing like net. The rifle shows little to no use. His asking price is $399 out the door.
So, this begs the question;
Since this rifle is number 324 (low) in the 1964 redesign, does that give it any collector value at all or is it just a 1964 Winchester that is very clean. I don’t need or want another 30-06 in my safe, unless there is a serious reason to buy it.
Thanks for your thoughts
