Browsing GB. This seller claims to have ” summary of information from firearms museum in Cody Wyoming” which states:
Year of Manufacture: 1899
Serial Number Applied 1903
with Warehouse dates in 1903.
There is no proper letter (as I’m used to seeing them) and the database here reports 1903. I thought the date of manufacture was the date the SN was applied, so I don’t understand how the rifle would be listed as Manufactured in 1899 if there was no SN to track it as well as the nature of this data seems suspect.
Would CFM ever report this data this way?
Here is a picture of the sellers “data”
