This is from Don Groove. Surely DST’s on an ’86 SRC is very rare. I sure like the condition and the chambering is desirable. I am curious why there is no letter on a $22k piece. I notice he has letters on many of his other Wincehsters. For a feature that rare (and for that price) I’d sure want to see a letter. From what I can tell, there should be a letter for that serial lumber range. For pretty to look at.
I don’t think this carbine is as correct as depicted. The stock appears to be refinished in that it is lower than metal components in several places and its hue is dissimilar to the forearm. Also, its sheen is atypical of 1904 and typical of a refinish. Leading to the question what else has been altered?

I suppose another example of too good to be true. As I mentioned, the lack of museum letter struck me as odd.
