Does anyone have definitive information on receiver markings next to the lever on some 1892 & 1886 Rifles? Not sure if these are present on other models.

Thanks!

The markings you refer to are inspector stamps, and they are found on most Winchester models.

That’s what I thought. It’s been a long time since I’ve been involved and I couldn’t remember. They seem random and inconsistent. I wondered if any new information had come about.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it.
