i own a small part-time gun shop and over the last ten years I have had a lot of old Winchester’s come through the doors. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford to keep all of them but I did keep a few I got a good deal on.. never thought of myself as a collector but more of an investor, figured I would always be able to sell them for the kids college fund (I have kept every python that has come through for the same reason). I have developed a love for the old Winchester’s and don’t think I will be able to sell them like I will the colts. I have read just about every page on this forum and have learned a lot! I’m working on figuring out how to post pics but for now, these are the rifles in my “collection “
M-64 deluxe carbine (deer rifle) in 32WS ser #1094676 w/Lyman peep
M-64 standard in 30-30 ser#1320643
M-94 carbine 32WS ser #1178248
M 1892 25-29 saddle ring carbine ser#916533
M 1894 38-55 saddle ring carbine ser#451046
m 1894 30-30 deluxe take down 26” 1/2 octagon 1/2 round bbl w/ Lyman tang peep and marble rear sight
I shoot all of the rifles besides the M-64 30-30 that thing is like new and it’s all original. I’m afraid to touch it!!! Lol!!
Hello Mark, and welcome to the WACA website!
Until you become a WACA member (and you should definitely consider doing so), you will be unable to directly post pictures on the WACA website. You can post a link (URL) to pictures you have stored on a photo hosting website.
It appears that you have a very good start to a great Winchester collection! I would very much like to add all of your Winchesters to me research surveys, and it would help to see the pictures of each gun. If you send them to me via email, I can post them for you. If you do send them to me, please do so in a separate email per gun.

Welcome aboard Mark,
As a member you can also access the WACA Magazine section which is full of interesting articles and reference material. Like Bert, I also working on a research survey but mine is the Model 1892 rifles. Could you please send me a series of photos to my email at [email protected]? I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about your 1920 vintage carbine.
Thanks and have fun

Mark-
Welcome to the site (and the obsession). You have a very good start on an interesting Winchester collection. Looking forward to hearing more about them, perhaps even a few pics.
Mike

Thanks for the welcome guys ! I plan on joining for sure, the deluxe take down is the one that intrigues me the most ! Was made in 1904 and is in wonderful shape. I think the bbl was reblued but not positive. I have shown it to several people that should know but they can’t tell either. I think the ridges on the octagon part should be sharper but don’t have anything to compare it to. I do not think the receiver has been messed with or the wood… bore is not bad but a little dark. When this gun came in,it was so dirty and dusty you could not determine anything about the gun! When I started cleaning the stock and saw the figure in the wood it was like Christmas ! I think this is the only gun I overpaid for just because I’ve never seen a deluxe takedown and was just beautiful….the bore on the 38-55 is pretty rough but still shoots fine and the 25-20 is in the same boat…..
