Thoughts on how high this one will go? Is this another one for a, “investor” and not a, “collector”? We have seen some high grade Winchesters sell well beyond the high end of auction estimates. However… they have not been M1895’s. We often have to search far and wide for love for 1895’s. The Zane Grey aspect, condition, fancy special order features etc., does that overcome the fact that this is a M1895 and not a M1886? Rob and Brad’s book on the ’95 should have a positive impact.
By the way, I like the M1895 and have no shame in saying so.

We have our answer: $300,000 (plus commission). So, didn’t exceed the high estimate but got close. Someone won a very special rifle.
