We have a beautiful hi-grade 1885 in the shop on consignment and are clueless as to its value. Here is the factory letter info:

Schuetzen doubleset trigger
Checkered stock w/pistol grip
Sights: Mid range, wind gauge, no rear seat
Helm plate
Dutch cheek piece
Spur lever
Palm rest

It doesn’t mention the wood but it is a full Winchester feather.
Strong case colors and probably 85% conservatively
Anyone with a thought of value?

It appears that you have an original Schuetzen rifle. Based on my research, the serial number is most likely 82105. 3X grade walnut was standard on the Schuetzen rifles which is why it was not mentioned in the factory ledger or on the factory letter.
In regards to the value, it is realistically worth $14K, but to get that, you will need to list it on an auction site. There are very few people who would walk in the door of a typical gun shop that would be willing to pay you what that rifle is worth.
