Hello guys,
i am from germany and i got a Winchester 1873 SRC.
I want to know something about it. Maybe anybody can helpme in this nice forum..
My questions:
There are two ( serial- ) numbers…:
13904 J.R ( Reciever , in Front of the Carrier ) and
135215 A ( Lower Tang )
what is the right one?
Why are there two? Or is the first one not a serial number?
Then there is the number ,35` on the Carrier….- what means that? The caliber???
I think it should be 38-40…
The gun is an original Saddle Ring Carbine in a very good condition.
Thank you for raeding my post- maybe there is somebody who can help me.
Regards, Jens
P.S: I can send pictures via email if needed
Hello Jens,
The serial number stamped on the receiver “13905 J.R.” was stamped on the it when it was delivered to James Rosier, and Australian arms dealer & importer. The number on the lower tang is the original Winchester serial number. Please provide a link to your pictures.
