Attached are photos of a circa 1907 takedown 1894 in .30 WCF with set triggers that I am considering acquiring. I’m new to collecting Winchesters, and although I have my suspicions about this particular example, I’d very much appreciate any help in evaluating it.
Also, I wasn’t able to upload these photos directly to this forum. Even though I’m a paid member, there was no “Upload Attachments” button on my posting screen.

Aleck,
You are being shown as a “WACA Guest”. When did you sign up as a paid member, and what is your membership number?
What is the serial number on the subject rifle? Send the pictures to me at [email protected]

Hi Bert,
I joined a few days ago (8/12/2017) as a full US member, annual. I don’t know my member number — the acknowledgment email implied that it would arrive in my “welcome packet from our office by mail.”
But I nonetheless linked ten photos using the img tag, which appear in the body of the post after a very considerable time delay as blue boxes with question marks. Clicking on these boxes brings up the linked photos in a pop-up window.
Is this how photo linking is supposed to work?
The serial number I have from the photos is 333086. All of the photos should be viewable externally at https://adobe.ly/2v0pMZn
FWIW, here’s another attempt to link a photo, this time with a manually-created thumbnail and a link to an external full-size image:
Aleck,
Based on the serial number the rifle was manufactured during 1906. Somebody has taken extremely nice care of it for the past 111 years!! If you are going to start collecting Winchesters that is a darn good first gun!

Aleck, Run, don’t walk, to begin your price negotiation. Winchester levers are at least 20% off their past prices of 2 years ago. There seem to be fewer buyers ( based on gun shows ) and it’s a buyers market. The exceptions are high condition guns, which you are looking at ! Mention the former comment and keep the ladder to yourself. Many on this forum would jump on that rifle !
