Hello folks, my name is John, and I’m a new member of the Winchester Collectors Association Its been a long time since I’ve owned a Winchester rifle. I used to own a Teddy Roosevelt Commemorative, Canadian Centennial and a Golden Spike, all 30-30’s that I purchased new in the late 60’s to early 70’s. Unfortunately a divorce in 1973 caused me to sell them. I recently found and purchased a Canadian Centennial 30-30 at a local gun show, S/N 43378 in great condition. And a friend just offered me his Model 94 S/N 3279518 today. I believe the model 94 was made in 1969, and I haven’t seen it in person, but I do have photos. The rifle appears to be quite dusty, but otherwise no apparent rust or major dings. Can anyone give me a average range of value? I wouldn’t want to take advantage of my friend, but I would hate to over pay as well.
Thanks,
John
Hello John and welcome to the WACA!
Generally speaking, the post-1963 production Model 94 Carbines are “shooter” grade guns, with little interest or value in the collector market. Accordingly, the vast majority of the 1964 – 1978 production Model 94s can be purchased for $400 (or less).

Welcome, John. There are some collectors interested in the commemoratives but they almost always insist on NIB specimens. Only consolation is that they seem to be very well finished and often fun to shoot. IMHO it’s a shame so many will probably never be shot.

Thanks Mike. I’m not really interested in collector value. Maybe back in the day, but now I just enjoy shooting. I have a number of older firearms from WWII, they all are good shooters. Thanks for your response.
