Before I make a bad purchase do you all think these are gumwood or walnut stocks? They’re advertised as walnut but I’m thinking gumwood.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Walnut stocks for the Model 1894 SRCs are very uncommon, especially in the years 1906 – 1925.  Winchester with very few exceptions used Gumwood for the SRC stocks.  Of note, when a Model 1894 SRC was special ordered with a shotgun butt, Winchester used walnut instead of gumwood.

Here’s an example.  .32 Winchester Special or course Cool

I really like the large style buttstock on a carbine.
