44 wcf loaded with shot wouldn’t be much different than shooting a .410 gauge.
Or just shoot them in the eyes! That always works.

Beautiful wood on an excellent rabbit gun!
If you happen to jump one of Wincacher’s Jackalopes, I’m pretty sure the B&C official record book still accepts Lopes brought down by the .44 WCF and the .45-70. Come to think of it, hunters shooting anything under .40 caliber are just asking for an ugly death when one of those Beasts lowers its head, ears too, and attacks in a front-on charge!
Good Luck to you!

Nice rifle!
First and probably only jack rabbit (it’s early ;-)) I’ve shot came out from underfoot while I was dove hunting. Startled me a bit, for some reason thought it was a coyote. Three very rapid rounds of 12 gauge birdshot later I remembered I had something a little more potent on my hip but it wasn’t necessary. They’re tough, just not that tough.
