Hi,

I have a Winchester 1892 32 WCF with an octagon barrel serial number 400521. Would you please give me a date of manufacture and any other information about the rifle?

Jim,

Your Model 1892 Sporting Rifle was manufactured in September 1907.  Based on what I am seeing in the pictures, it was refinished at some time in its past.

Hello Jim,

For some reason all of the bluing has been removed from the magazine tube.  Is there a small groove cut into the bottom flat of the barrel at the muzzle?  Your rifle is in the transition range of when the magazine end cap design was changed from ones with a tab that fit into the slot to a design that was fully round.

The front sight is not original and the rear sight elevator is also not original.

Your Model 1892 was manufactured in the year 1917.

As a “Guest” on the WACA website, you do not have the requisite permissions needed to directly upload pictures.  You can post a URL (link) to a photos you have stored on a hosting service.
