Hi- I just picked up a model 94 w/ serial 1093712 and the only thing that looks like it might not be original is the rear sight. Also, should the front sight have a ring on it? Looks like there’s a groove where a ring would snap/slide on but I’m not sure.

Thanks in advance.

Steve,

The front sight ramp should have longitudinal grooves on each side of it to allow a hood to be installed over the top of the sight. The standard rear sight was one of the 22-series sporting sights. You did not specify if you have a Sporting Rifle, or a Sporting Carbine, and each used a difference variation of the 22 series sights. Which caliber is your Model 94?

Thanks for the reply. It’s a .30-30 carbine.

You need a 22-G with the 3C elevator.

My # 1100457 PR 1, 1936, transitional, is just about drippy mint, and has a M22-E rear sight. with the 3C elevator. One of my highly prized carbines. Big Larry

Thank you again. It looks like I have the correct sight but it may be a little newer than the rest of the gun. I appreciate your time.
