I have an antique 1892 that is in about 80%+ condition with excellent wood to metal fit, excellent bore, excellent screws etc. It is a round barreled, FM, CB. It is a nice rifle. I have seen one for sale that is exactly as mine was made and one number higher, so they would be consecutive serial numbered. The condition on the other one is about 90%+. My question is, how much more are consecutive serial numbered rifles worth if both are in the condition mentioned above. Lets assume that mine would be worth $3000.00 by itself and the other about $3500.00 by it self. Now what would they be worth together? Thanks for the help. Peter
The first thing I would check, is to see if both were shipped on the same order number. If they are not on the same order number, they are “disconnected” and simply have consecutive serial numbers. If they have the same order number (shipped to the same location/buyer), then they are truly “connected”.

Peter,
There is no set amount, as it will vary depending on the condition of each gun, the specific variation of the guns, and what the potential buyer thinks about the consecutive serial numbers. I myself would be inclined to add a 5% premium to the asking price, but that does not mean much.

It would be worth more to me as a collector but not as an investor. I wouldn’t buy it solely based on what premium some future buyer may place on the consecutive serial numbers.

Since all you have to go by is the order number you do not know how many were shipped in the order nor where they went. They could have stayed together for years if bought as a pair for some reason or they may have split up upon receipt by the original purchaser if they were a big wholesaler or any retailer. It is still interesting to see them together. Some may pay a premium for them and others would place little to extra value on them. Selling them together for a premium will make it harder to find a buyer.
THIS ALL STARTED WITH JUST ONE GUN!
The only thing you can do with order numbers is if you pay them they will search the ledgers for other guns with that order number but if you ask they will only look at the page your gun is on.

Peter,
Correct, you just have a order number and that information would of been in the office or the file room which they burned in the factory furnace at times.
