Just returned from the Denver show. This was my 27th show in Denver. Hate the drive, love the show. It was a great one again this year. Sold a lot of Winchester molds and tools, as well as boxed ammo. Came home with a wonderful 1876 in .50 Express. It’s a standard sporting rifle, 26″ octagon, full mag with 80% original finish. Gun was shipped in 1882. Also made a deal on a beautiful 1st model 1873 octagon, with full mag. Condition is exceptional (90%) for a four digit gun shipped in 1875. I already have a very high condition 1st model carbine with a four digit number, so this rifle will be great companion. Will take delivery in July, at the Cody show.

Sounds like a great show, indeed. Congrats! You ARE going to post a few pics of that 1876, aren’t you?

I understand. I’m finally getting the upload thing figured out but my pics are still terrible.

I think I looked at that 76. Dick Goergen had it? If it was the one I looked at this was a very nice gun at a good price for a 50.

Very nice, good job on the pics. There’s something about an 1876, finding a good one in 50 must feel good. Nicely done!

I’ve had several .50’s in the past, all standard 26″ sporting rifles. The best one I had, condition wise, was a round barrel gun. It was much nicer that the one I just bought, but I don’t like round barrel rifles and don’t have any in the collection. I sold it a few years ago. This one in the photos has a lot of original bright finish and a near perfect bore. Yes, I do plan to shoot it. I shot all the others, why not this one. Happy Memorial Day, 2018.

Great find, Rick. I think I saw that rifle on your table later in the show. I agree it was a fantastic show as always and a good opportunity to catch up with friends and fellow members. I had a good show too……. sold a couple rifles outright and made two really good trades for an 1886 and an 1894 shorty, of course. Both are couple fairly scarce configurations and I’m pleased to have them.
