That’s a great looking ’86, Kirk. I would accept that from Santa any day.
The 1/2 Oct. barrel and partial mag are both scarce features on that model. Is it also a 24″ barrel? Just looks a little shorter than standard ….. maybe not. If so, that’s another uncommon feature.

I, too, was wondering what he would choose to down with it…elk? Wondered if there was a late season in his area. Then, the mental gymnastics…that he would not beat it around on a hunt.
Nice mule deer, Shrapnel. It is ever a pleasure to hunt with these old pieces.
My latest “gift” that happened during Christmas is an original Remington New Model Army. Maybe I’ll hunt varmints with it.
