OnlineI also agree with the comments on wanting to know the model and more pictures of the checkering to verify the style of Winchester checkering or not!
Looking at the pics you posted close up and enhancing them, almost looks like the finish on the checkering was heated or almost burnt to give it an older maybe antique look, if not original or correct. In my pessimistic view, of possible being off, or not original! 
Naturally, without clicking on the pictures it looks presentable.
But I can’t verify either way!

The quality of the stock checkering work took a very noticeable downward spiral in the immediate Post-WW II years. The LPI became noticeably coarser, and over-runs were not uncommon. The only true quality checkering & carving after WW II was accomplished in the Custom Shop.
