OnlineI suppose we can skip the conversation about whether or not this specimen has been refinished. I like relics like this one, it lets the imagination wander around a bit trying to explain how it came to be where it was in this condition.

That makes me wonder if this came from a gunsmith’s scrap pile after all the useful parts were scavenged to repair other 1873’s.

OfflineThe gun was not a complete gun when it was buried, Barrel cut off and the internals removed. It was a 44.
