Need some help please
Burgess double barrel shotgun/rifle pump with magazine. Did Burgess ever make an experimental pump 45/70 16 GA with a magazine. I do not know how to attach pics here.

Wow – I would love to see photos of this piece. You can’t post photos directly as a guest but you can use an outside photo hosting site (I used to use photobucket and now use Imgur – free). I assume this is a wrist-action pump? I have seen several Burgess wrist action pump in rifle cartridges (and one was in .45-70); I would consider all experimental/prototypes. One of our members here has a Burgess pump rifle in .44-40 that is a two-barrel set. I recall a very old article I saw 40 or 50 years ago that I think featured a Burgess rifle/shotgun combination but my memory is fuzzy on the details. Regarding your inquiry, I would say it is entirely possible. Burgess was a very talented inventor with some very interesting and unique designs. Winchester recognized this and bought him out. Some of the original aspects of Burgess designs have been carried forward to many modern made firearms.
