Seen this rifle on GB and wondered about the brass/gold bands. I have seen this on carbines with a gold receiver but not a blued gun. Is this something that a pervious owner has done?

Looks like something I’ve seen on commemoratives, no indication this is a commemorative.

Yes, and I will add that the same person re-installed the barrel bands backwards.

I bought this gun. It was built in the 50’s and yes someone put those on backwards. The rifle is however in very good shape.
