OfflineBass Pro Shop is selling this as an 1886 SRC.
I see one picture in the gallery that could be an 1886, the rest are advertising what appears to be an 1876 musket(?)
What variant of the 1876 is this?

OfflineUnderstand that Bass Pro’s evaluations and write ups are terrible, not only for information, but accuracy. The day that Cabella’s sold to them they’ve gone down hill, on several different levels, and especially in the Customer Service area. IMO!
The 1876 Musket, in the picture is just that, as you stated, and the picture of the 1886, looks to be in the 45-90 WCF, caliber, from they’re hard to see picture.
They never include enough pictures, and calling them, and trying to talk with someone, is also a challenge. Visiting the store to handle it would be the best way naturally, otherwise you have to buy it to get them to send it to a store near you, and if you don’t like it, you can get a refund, so I’m told.
I really don’t care to use them, or deal with them. Buyer beware once again!

OfflineIts too short to be a musket. It is a Model 1876 Saddle Ring Carbine. On the Model 1876 the full length forearm was standard on the carbine.
There is one or two pictures of a 45-90WCF Model 1886 mixed in with the pictures of the 76 carbine.

They are indeed variable from store to store, possible mixed-up data on two different rifles. Sometimes buying from an underinformed seller works to the buyer’s advantage and I have certainly benefitted from that circumstance when visiting my local Orphanage. In this case I’m thinking it’s a typo on top of a mix-up. Dick Cabela knows his shirts, Johnny Morris is a pullover knit shirt guy. Glad I bought quite a few extra from the bargain cave. Cabelas also had good jeans. I kinda like their Herters shotgun shells but they don’t put them on sale often enough.
