Hi Bert. In my collection I have a drippy mint. M94 Transitional. # 1100457. The carbine appears to be unfired. Now, the bolt as had the face polished bright or was never blued. I have never seen another like it. Your thoughts? Also has a magazine tube from an earlier carbine with the cut for the forward band where the cut went on the post sighted carbines. Cleanup of parts? This rifle has the ramp and sight hood, and a Winchester 22E rear sight. Also the early carbine buttplate. Nicest M94 carbine I own. Thanks, Big Larry

Larry,

Can you post clear close-up pictures of all that you have described?

Best I could do with my cheapo camera.   Shows no sign of ever being polished. Machine marks in the bolt face.

Cut in mag. tube for earlier carbine.    Big Larry

Larry your camera is too close to focus, back off a little.  If you are using a flash don’t, too much glare.  Best photos are shot outside in the shade.  If you can with your weather.

I have a 94 transitional serial 1111814 all later features except earlier carbine style butt, it is in very high original condition. It too has a bolt face left in the white. The magazine tube does not have a drill hole for earlier barrel band guns.

Hey, that’s cool. Glad to see someone was not fooling with the carbine. I really like the 1927 dated M22-E rear sight. I had never seen one before.

The mag. tube hole was an added feature. Parts cleanup of earlier M94’s. They never threw anything away. I got my carbine in a rather large trade for several nice Winchesters. I had never even heard of these. Anyway, it is a keeper and a safe queen. PR dates it to 1936.   Thanks, Big Larry

I noticed that the magazine plug screw appeared to be sticking out, not flush with the tube.  Is it loose, or is the magazine plug in upside down or is it just an allusion?  RDB

Just checked it and the screw is in as far as it will go. Don’t want to force it, would probably bugger the screw.  Thanks, Big Larry

Hey Bert,

I have a transitional 94 carbine in 32WS #1101001 with a ramp front sight.

The mag tube has the notch for the post front sight.

It was heavily altered. The stock was cut and a recoil pad attached.

The receiver was drilled and tapped for two additional screws for a side-mount scope. Filler screws make it appear somewhat normal.

It had no rear sight.

What rear sight did it most likely leave the factory with?

The center of the dovetail slot is approximately 3-1/16″ forward of the front edge of the receiver.

The correct rear sight was the 22-G… see the attached picture.

Yes, all of the Model 94 Transitional Carbines were standard with the 22-G/3C sight/elevator combo.

hello to all,

I bought a model 94 a few years back and I was wondering if you could help me estimate the year of manufacturing  ( I think it’s 1954 from what I could find online) and possibly the value? The Sn# is 2096090 and it came with the original box but nothing else in the box. Appears to be unfired. The owner before me even kept a piece of cloth between the hammer and firing pin. Not sure how to post the pics in this forum..

Your Model 94 was manufactured late in the year 1954. As a non WACA member, you cannot post pictures directly to the forums. You can post a link to pictures you have stored on photo hosting websites.

Until I can see the gun and the box, I prefer not to speculate in regards to the possible value.  Unfortunately, the market as been inundated with Fake boxes, and refinished guns in past years.
