Update on the fake Model 71 Carbine that started this topic. Today, I had a very pleasant phone conversation with the seller (Don Goheski).  Apparently, he was contacted by someone who reads this forum, and then reached out to discuss the situation with me.  He was unaware of the fact that his Model 71 is a faked Carbine until he very recently read this topic, and saw the pictures of the rifle as it was sold by Heritage auctions back in 2012.  He has pulled the listing on Gunsinternational.  Based on my conversation with him, he is an honorable man.

Good to hear some sellers still have integrity.

Agreed, although I still feel most do.

Bert; was Mr. Goheski able to shed any light on the history of this carbine? I hope his experience wasn’t too costly.

Bert,

Model 71 Special Carbine serial # 13840 info provided for survey.  Long tang, bolt peep sight, 20″ barrel.  Pix in auction link.  Do you see anything of concern?  Thanks.

Bert, I have a 71 with the numbers 481 below WCF on the barrel. Can you give me an idea what they represent?

Thanks Michael
