How is it known the barrel is “lobbed off”?
First off, look at the location of the front sight. It is too far from the muzzle.
Also, the factory records show the barrel length was 28 inches when it was shipped. The barrel length is now 24 inches.
Looks like they left that important fact out of the description. Did you do a serial number search at Cody to find out the original 28 inch barrel length?
I don’t know enough about Marlins to even get into the conversation but if the barrel length issue is indeed true, then my skepticism of the Model 1892 is enhanced even more. In the seller description of the 92, the seller says “the serial number appears to have been hand selected off the factory line as it is 676767”. Was this even possible – when you ordered a Winchester, could you select your own serial number – just curious?

My information is based on a serial number ledger search but not through Cody. Cody is not the sole possessor of the Marlin ledger information.
