Hello everyone, first post here.
I’ve recently bought a nice little Model 53 in 32 WCF, will be a good shooter, not a collector.
However, I cannot find a serial number anywhere on it, looked in the usual place at the front of the action on the bottom, nothing there at all.
Under a strong light I can’t even see any remains of any serial number, and the action does not look like it has been machined to remove the number, the wood is still sitting level with the metal, of course they could have removed wood too.
I’ve completely pulled the rifle apart and cannot find any numbers that would/should resemble a serial number.
The barrel has the correct markings on it, as does the tang, just no serial number.
Any clues for where I might look please?
I also need a forend/magazine cap too if anyone would like to part with one. The one on it is a Model ’92 octagonal barrel mag cap.
They seem very difficult to find.
Thank-you and Best Regards,
David C.

Good morning David,
Can you send me some photos of all the stamped writing on the gun to [email protected] The number “should be” on the bottom of the receiver just below where it joins the fore end wood. That is the only place the SN was ever located.
