They’ve had it for a few months. Bought it for less than listed amount. Did a rifle of this vintage come with a steel BP as an option? The caliber is attractive to me as is the condition. Would like input, please.

The answer is yes. Smooth steel shotgun butt plates were an option for that range serial number. Rifle below is s/n 376721 from 11-14-1907
