I have suggested a couple of time to this seller that he change his methods for his photos so that they might actually be useful to assess the condition of the rifle. But I guess I am wasting my time. This is by far the worst ones he has ever put up. Does he not even look at the pictures and then, WHAT in the world does he think when they are all blurry and useless??? http://www.gunauction.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=12187485

I look at a lot of guns on different internet sights every morning. A huge majority of them have bad pictures and/or indescriptive descriptions. Also, a lot of them have a "no return policy". I used to ask a lot of questions and try to get better pictures and questions answered from them. I have found that this very seldom, if ever works with this type of seller. Even though the gun in question looks like it could be a sleeper, and a good buy, I would almost guarantee you that buying from them will not turn out at all well. I have decided that these seller are just to crooked/rude/stupid for me to buy a gun from anyway. It is amazing to me how they sell anything, but they do. You and I not buying from them means nothing to them. They’re not looking for buyers like us anyway. I have even had these seller "ban me from their auctions" because I asked simple, but detailed questions. I’m glad they do, just in case I get stupid and forget who they are. Peter
Gotta remember Phil that GB is not the one who gives the ratings…it’s the buyers and the sellers that rate each other. I bought something on GB awhile back that was totally misrepresented by the seller. He was also a total jerk. I got my money back finally, but did not give him a negative because he would have given a negative to me also, and I did not deserve it at all. It is not like Ebay where the buyer can give a negative to the seller, but the seller CAN NOT give one to a buyer in 99% of the cases. Ebay’s sellers pay attention to detail and do not, in most cases, give out false information. Even though their Ebay listing might say "NO RETURNS", trust me, if they give out false info, or the item is defective and/or not as described, PayPal and Ebay will come down on them like a ton of bricks. Sellers on Ebay have learned to be very careful about how they describe and sell items. They are also very professional and polite in most cases I have found. It is my opinion that these gun auctions should be leaning that direction considering what goes on in a lot of the auctions. Peter
Im not sure why some of these guys dont post better photos either. I have purchased some of these guns with terrible photos because there was enough there to tell what they were and they ended up being very good buys, and at a lower cost that what I resold them back on gunbroker for with better photos–as my dad would say "no guts, no glory".
As for responding to questions, some questions you get leave you wondering what kind of person is on the other end of the email and if you really want your gun to sell to them. When you provide a no frills straight forward explanation of what the gun is plus 25 to 30, or sometimes more photos and there are still questions you have to wonder about the person inquiring and whether you want to spend the time on them. I know all too well that poor descriptions and poor photos are frustrating and when you do inquire and never get a response back it leaves little to be desired. The way I look at it is that there are so many guns out there to choose from that if a seller doesnt want to respond or is misrepresenting their auction I just move on to the next one–life is too short to worry over these little things.

I have done the same thing. The photo made it look like the receiver was completely devoid of any finish but, it had features on a short rifle that I wanted so, I bought it. When it arrived, I had to double check the s/n to see if it was the same rifle. Posted below is the GB photo and then, photos of it after I got it.
