Winchester Model 94 standard carbine (Non SR & not flat band) in 25-35, SN 13350x (or plus another "x" too, I don’t have it in front of me now – sorry). Would that be 1945 manufacture?
Thanks for info & Happy Holidays to all!

My M94 32 Special # 1,327,444, pretty close to your XX carbine, was in the polishing room, 4-1-1942. I would say yours was a 1942 carbine too. Big Larry

May 1942… I would like to have the complete serial number for my research survey when you get the chance. I would also like to verify the UT marking, and if it is drilled & tapped for a tang sight.

Thanks for the info! Bert, I will try to get the full SN info to you today via my phone. I am almost certain that it is not D&T for a tang sight so assume not unless I indicate otherwise in my next comm. Also this rifle wears the simple checkered steel butt plate. But please enlighten me, what is "UT"? I am working from my collection file photos and XL spreadsheet, so hopefully they will reveal that requested info. Otherwise, it would be sometime in the spring before I have it again in my hands. This the result of an eclectic lifestyle and resulting vicarious collection management/research!
Again Happy Holidays to all!

"UT" is short for Upper Tang.

The UT on your carbine should have the Type-7 marking, and I would expect it to be drilled & tapped for a tang sight, but it might not be. Thus far, I have (237) 1942 vintage Model 94 serial numbers in my survey, and the earliest one I have found without a drilled & tapped UT is serial number 1338317.

The butt plate you mention is not correct for a 1942 vintage Model 94 Carbine. Winchester did not introduce that style of butt plate until they were well into the 1946 production year.

Yep, the buttplate should be the same as a M55. Big Larry

OK, that does make it a 1945 production gun (October). However, it should not have a drilled & tapped UT or be marked. It should also have a serrated steel butt plate (like the Model 55).
