Looking for an experienced eye for case coloring. Do these colors look authentic or original? Amazing price appreciation 😯

That’s the way I see it also. Too bad this stuff is on the market, but makes for amusing reading and valuable lessons.

Here is what real Winchester Model 1890 case colors look like on my 1895 produced gun. The rash of little brown specks turned out to be just old hardened grease and wiped off with solvent!

What would a person expect to pay for a 1890 2nd model-22 WRF with 90% case colors and the barrel blue in 97% condition? Any thoughts? Buddy has one and is getting ready to sell but no price yet!

You can look at this being offered at Day’s Rifle for $12,500 but has been there for a while: http://www.dayswinchesters.com/189022lr838xxx.htm

Thanks for posting the pictures! Looks like a nice gun and the price is hefty also! The gun I am looking at is very comparable to this one and has been in his collection for over 35 years. It has vivid colors and I am being pretty conservative at 90%. What percentage CC would you say the two guns pictured are? This gun would match up to either one of them. Im also sure that he will want more than $3000.00. I was figuring close to $6000. Thanks again for posting!

Send me some pictures when he gets ready to sell it. I’m assuming the bore is perfect. Has your friend considered putting it up for auction on GB? That way he could post whatever price he wanted, and work down until it sells.
