Ryan,
The rifle has been refinished so the collector value is dramatically reduced. If you are trying to sell the rifle and some one values the set trigger feature then it may be worthwhile proving it is original to the gun. There is always the possibility that the gun was originally different beyond just the trigger than what you are holding. Getting a letter is the only way to know.
