The work order on the link I posted is the only one I have ever seen. I figured that this is what/who you were referring to in your previous post. I would be happy to post an original sample of a genuine work-order if you were to send it to me.

Thanks for the offer. Someone beat you to it. Pics should be up this morning. The ones I have are from Product Service so they would be in the best condition. There were several copies made of any work order. One stayed in the box with the gun as it traveled through out the shop to engravers, checkerers, gunsmiths, etc. The other copies went to foremen and inspectors. Those copies were usually in much worse condition, oil stained, ripped, etc. So this is what I am saying in regards to the condition of the fake ones.

The first one pictured is a work/repair ticket. These were issued when a gun was sent back for repair or alterations such as upgrade wood, change sights, engrave, etc. The other two are manufacturing orders. Note that the specs are all listed on the inner pages.

I have received letters from Cody on my model 21’s and have copies of what happened at the factory as far as returns, enhancements, etc.

I did meet Ed once at the Antique Firearms show about 10 years ago. Bought a used "leg of mutton" model 21 gun case from him for $200.

I’m stunned too. I heard that M70 went for $25,000. I guess I’m in the wrong business!

Pauline,

Again thank you for sharing some of your knowledge you received while working for Winchester.

I always like it, and feel a bit safer, when the eyes are watching…
