By now, many have heard that WACA and the CFM negotiated a mutually beneficial agreement in the hopes of strengthening the relationship between the two organizations and increasing membership for both WACA and the CFM. The joint announcement it shown below:

"Winchester Arms Collectors Association
Membership Has Its Priveleges
WACA leadership negotiates additional
benefits for WACA members

Breaking News – July 13, 2013 – To continue strengthening the relationship between Winchester Arms Collectors Association and the Cody Firearms Museum of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, the leadership of both organizations met today to discuss mutually beneficial opportunities.

Out of that meeting an agreement was made to provide members of WACA who join or renew their membership with the Cody Firearms Museum to be allowed 15 additional free serial number searches more than the published number of free searches for each annual membership level.

This offer is valid for the remainder of 2013. To take advantage of the new offering WACA members will be asked to provide the Cody Firearms membership staff a current WACA membership number.

If you are not a WACA member, we hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity by becoming a WACA member this weekend. We suggest you also make plans to visit the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and become a member of this one of a kind firearm museum."

This agreement offers a significant benefit to WACA members that adds $105 – $150 of value depending on how you price future serial number searches. CFM stated that they are considering charging for serial number searches when they attend regional gun shows starting this fall. Don’t be caught short – sign up now!

Is this just a one time deal?

Bob,

No, it is not, but we do not know (yet) what the deal will be for 2014. I spoke with Jessica about this a few weeks ago while I was still in Cody. I suspect that the deal for 2014 will be similar.
