Does anyone know where I can obtain a Summer 2012 publication of The Winchester Collector magazine? I have a 94/95 hybrid carbine in my collection and would really like to have a copy of this magazine that contains the article about these carbines. I will gladly buy it from someone that’s willing to part with one.
Thanks,
Don
The article was by Rick Hill. He may have copies of it available. I would not think there would be any legal problems with making a copy of it for someone. There is one for sale on GB right now with s/n 1,032,143 and he is showing the pages out of BOBR94’s book on this version right in his ad.

I don’t have a copy of the article which you seek nor am I entitled to the WCA journal. I do have some older information consisting of perhaps a seminal article by Art Gogan; such going back to 12/85 concerning these rifles. My data includes Art’s subsequent spread sheet of perhaps a decade ago reflecting the particulars on a number of such rifles. (I have also observed information in Mr. Renneburg’s book on the Models 1894/94.) While all my possessed information may be relatively common knowledge by now, I am certainly willing to share it and would highly appreciate any other available information.
As to Intellectual Property law, it is my belief that private and occasional, one-off copies for non-commercial purposes is lawful under US copyright law; such particularly if provided in the context of educational or research purposes, which terms probably tend to be liberally interpreted. Of course the first question is whether any copyright protection currently exists for the material(s) in question. (No legal advice intended here nor should it be construed as such.)
Iskra.
Rick and I have the original survey by Art Gogan, and we have collectively been adding to it for the past several years. I will see Rick on Thursday and ask if he has an e-copy of the article. I have an updated survey that lists all of the verified Model 94/95 Hybrid Carbines (49 thus far).

Normally I believe its not uncommon or that out of the ordinary for members to be able buy back issues of the collector if they need them and if the association has any left over.
Someone let me know if I’m wrong here.
Oh and thanks for this post, it reminds me I still have a couple of copies of extra past issues that were sent to me by mistake. I plan on sending those back to the association ASAP. My wife and I recently moved, still trying to get unpacked, I’ll have to find those issues and get on that.
Sincerely,
Maverick

Hello Bert,
It is good to know that the research and spreadsheet data on these variations is still being compiled. Having completed and returned a data sheet to Art, my rifle should be among those in the data compilation. (I subsequently understood that unfortunately Art G. passed in 2006.)
I would certainly like to acquire an updated copy of the data and also the referenced recent article would be of great interest to me. Please let me know if these are in fact available and if so how I might obtain a copy.
Appreciatively,
Iskra
