Are these factory installed?  Can’t find a lot of reference to much beside the flip up on the Carbines

Sorry for the poor lighting, its raining and dark……

The front post sight by Lyman has a red plastic insert to capture light and make the dot brighter.  I don’t think clear plastics were yet invented, (not sure if Bakelite is a true plastic) and if so I believe 1929 era sights would have had a brass or ivory bead insert.

The rear sight is a Marbles, and with a Lyman front blade, I sincerely doubt that that they are factory original.

Thanks Bert.  Would factory records indicate the sights?  What makes you feel that they are not original?

Ryan,

There are no surviving factory records for your Model 94, so the answer is a definite No to your first question.

In response to your second question, Winchester did not use or install the style of Marbles rear sight that is on your Carbine.  As for the Lyman blade insert sight, I have not ever seen one on a pre-1933 Carbine before seeing the picture of yours.
