94 Receiver marks for discussion

Fellows,

A friend of mine on here asked me to post a photo of a 94 he has come across. Wondering about these markings. Seen X’s and EXP, etc, before, but not this. Not sure if factory or what it may represent. Serial number looks bit off too.

Anyway, here is pic, will let him chime in.

Thanks Matt, the rifle is a semi deluxe in 32WS with an 1/2 octagon barrel.
The gun is out of letterable range so I had it posted here.
Maybe a type of Ranch brand but we are not in Ranch country
