It looks like the back half of a Model 1890 (90). What is the serial number on the lower tang?

It IS a back half of a Model 1890, the lifter appears to be for a .22WRF. With the serial number Bert can give you more information.
I wish I could find stuff like that in the junk bins I see……

That makes it a February 1907 production Model 1890. If you want to verify the original full configuration, the CFM records office can research it in the records.
