So I have come into ownership of a pretty plain post-64 model 70 .30-.06. I planned on using it as my deer rifle due to the OMFG increase in price of .284 ammo. Anyhow I sighted this model 70 in and it STOMPED my butt, it does not have a pad and I plan on having one added. This gun is in good shape maybe 75-80% being plain and a post 64 how badly would the value be affected? as it is Right now its worthless. I have shot many guns and several large guns, but this thing hurt me as bad as I can remember ever hurting.
well, being that was not my question I will respond. We get 5 tags a year, and shoot hogs at the same time. Plus shooting it per-season that puts you at a box. at 85$ a box, I’m out. This rifle however cost me nothing due to coming from my fathers cull pile. I’m sure I could source some cheaper ammo but why when this is here now?
BTW thanks Bert for you always helpful direction and knowledge.
