Hello to all. I rescued an old Winchester over the weekend. Unfortunately, the rear sight is broken. 

Naturally, the search for information on the rifle and sight led me here. I joined WACA. Thank you for the wealth of knowledge contributed by all.

I am in need of a Marbles 44A rear ladder sight. It is the later U-notch type marked to 20. The rifle has virtually no finish left on it. So, no need for a gem, just a solid functional sight.

Does anyone have one in your spare parts box that you would part with? Or, is there anyone out there that repairs these?

Jeff,

What is the serial number on your 1928 SRC?  With it, I can pin down the exact month it was manufactured.

The rear sight you need is not a “Marbles” sight, but it is a No. 44A.  They are frequently found on ebay if WACA member Ben does not have one for you.

Currently, I have 28,373 Model 1894(94) rifles & carbines documented in the survey.  The serial number ranges that I am documenting in the survey are; 1 – 7999 and 354000 – 2600011.
