Any of you guys know the diameter and pitch of the original saddle rings fitted on 1894 carbines. I found a ring and stud in an old box of gun parts I got from an old fellow and I wonder if it is original? Finish is factory new but I am thinking it is an old one due to the fact everything else in the box was ancient. I think the newer studs were a different thread but am not sure. Thanks for any help in advance.

Mike,

Off the top of my head, I believe that thet are 1/4-16, but my memory could be faulty.

I believe it was 1/4 x 20 but then again, my memory is probably worse than Bert’s.  Hopefully Mike Hunter will view this and set us straight.
