OfflineThis may or may not be a popular question here, but does anyone make no drill scope mounts for the 1892 ? will mounts for a 1894 work? i have a 92 44-40 that i would like to put a scope on but want to be able to add the scope and mounts without harming the gun. i know these are collectors guns and this may not be a popular thing to do but just wondering if anyone has done it.

OfflineSomeone did, I have one. It mounts on the left side of the receiver. You remove some of the existing screws/plugs and use the screws that came with the mount to install the rail on the left side of the receiver. I found it detracted from sleek appearance of the 1892 an never used it. I will look through my parts and take some pictures when I find it. I have held on to it because it is the only one I have ever seen and I collect the unusual. RDB

Found it. I am not well versed in picture taking, but here is the ’92 scope side mount. I used a bare receiver to give an idea of how it looks and fits. RDB

Very interesting.  I’ve never seen the likes of it.  Thanks for posting the photos.  I agree that it substantially detracts from the sleek aesthetics of the M1892 receiver.  On the other hand, some of us have eyes that are not getting any younger
