On page 176 of Wilson’s “Steel Canvas,” and on pages 116 & 117 of “Winchester American Legend,” Wilson shows pictures of a Highly finished and engraved Model 1892 listed as serial#11009 that is supposed to have been built for the Emperor of Japan.
Does anyone know the current owner / whereabouts of the rifle? Also, Didn’t this very rifle get auctioned off not that long ago? Any info would be appreciated on it. If anyone knows the owner, please send me a PM about it.
I’m interested in speaking to the owner about the Reloading Tool that is pictured inside the boxed case next to the cartridges in the picture.
Sincerely,
Maverick

The book lists Macroskie as the owner. I know his stuff has been filtering through RIA. I think the family has kept some of the guns.
Where did you see it listed? I must have missed it, what page is it listed on?
Do you have any idea what year or which auction they started listing his collection on?
Sincerely,
Maverick

I sure did miss it. Found it noted later on towards the back of Wilson’s book, in another chapter!
I wonder if the McCorskie’s are holding onto this one, as I have yet to find where it was auctioned at RIA.
