The very early production Model 1886s were equipped with a “single-set” trigger (similar to the Model 1876) when special ordered. Most of the Model 1886s were made with the much more common “close-coupled” set trigger, often referred to (incorrectly) as a “double-set”. That “pin” is actually a slotted screw, and turning it adjusts the amount of pull weight needed to release the trigger.
