1885 44-40 low wall

Hi all

I have purchased a Winchester Low Wall in 44-40.

It has been re-barrelled and had new wood fitted.

I have looked and think it was manufactured about 1896-1897.

Serial number is 78738.

I don’t want to sell it but I am curious as to when it was made.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Ian,

Winchester Single Shot S/N 78738 is listed in the records as a 44 WCF, 28-inch No. 1 octagon barrel. It was received in the warehouse in June, 1897.
