I picked up an 38-40 1873 w/ an inscription scribed into the brass.
Serial number: 298615B
I believe it says:
”Y. 1899, Larry Nolan”
It came out of central New Hampshire but it’s only been in that family for a couple decades (or so I was told), so I don’t know it’s history or or to that.
I intend to try to figure out who Mr. Nolan was if possible. I wondered if his name rings a bell with anyone here. I realize it’s a long shot, but can’t hurt to ask.
I don’t think your going to have any luck unless you can come up with a town name to start your search with.
