I have a model 97  12ga. with rib matting on top of the receiver. The barrel is a plain 30″  modified choke.Pistol grip stock with a Winchester buttplate and an 18 ring round forend. Serial # E 871016. Is this a tournament grade and how many were made?,Value?

Based on your limited description, I doubt that it is a Tournament grade gun. The serial number tells me that it was manufactured late in the year 1931.
