Bob or whoever can answer.
I picked up a very nice 1873 Carbine a couple of weeks ago from a 50+year private collection. I am mostly a 1886 guy so I was doing some research on the 73’s. I read that based on some past survey that Winchester only produced some 762 Carbines in the Model 1873. Given the total number of 73’s that were manufactured that seems an inordinately small amount. What say you guys?
Does anybody need info on the gun for a survey? If so here it is:
SR# 386315 B
Type: Carbine
Caliber: 44
Have letter. No other special features
Cheers

Kirk,
I have 3234 carbines in my survey which comes out to 18% of the 73’s were carbines.
send me the serial number and caliber if its a standard carbine and I will add it.
