I am not certain how I missed your post for so long. This is a new rifle for my survey. Based on the serial number the rifle was manufactured during 1937. Winchester apparently made a batch of approximately 200 Model 61’s identical to yours in this SN range. Can you tell me please if the magazine end is collared as shown in the attached photos? Does the slide handle have 11 grooves in it?
