Hi Bert,
Are you keeping track of these in your survey?

Was this a new entry? How many do you have documented so far? It seems I only see this error on the carbines.Don
Don,
No, it was not a new entry. I currently have (35) serial numbers in the survey with that patent date error marking, of which (4) of them are ELW Rifles. The serial number range in which they are found is 330000 – 400000, round barrels only.

Bert,I have a 25-35 SRC with the August 14 patent date, serial #372122. You may have this one already, it was on G.I. for a while. I also have a 22″ ELW semi-deluxe rifle with the same patent date. Someday if I get it dug out I will relay the serial number.
Dana
I did have serial number 372122 in the survey. I am very interested in your ELW semi-deluxe rifle though.

BertSerial #359712, 30 WCF , 22″ Lightweight , pistol grip, ‘I’ style checkering, takedown, hard rubber shotgun buttplate
I also had this in my survey. The forend stock length is the only piece of information needed.
Thanks,

Hello Doug,
Thank you very much! All three are new entries in the survey. I do have one question for you concerning the location of the Winchester proof mark on the barrel… is it stamped forward of the rear sight, or behind the rear sight? I have found that Winchester was not always consistent in where they stamped the proof mark on the barrel.
