Thanks Steve. After talking to John Madl just now about it, it is starting to grow on me. Maybe I can get a few better pic tommorrow if it stops snowing!

Tom, if you talk to John ask him about 36″ barreled 86’s. Is there a list of these? Someone I know bought an 86 that has a 36″ 40-65 barrel but it does not letter for this rifle.

What is a a “letter” and “cody”?
A “letter” is an official document derived from the original Winchester factory ledger records. “Cody” is the Cody Firearms Museum (CFM) and they are the entity that issues the “letter”.
